Where is Olympic Stadium? One of the largest football stadiums in the world, Maracana Stadium is located toward the east of Rio de Janeiro city. The iconic venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics is a part of a complex that includes an arena - Maracanãzinho. The Olympic stadium is about five kilometers from downtown Rio.
It is located about 12 kilometers north of the famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches.

How to Reach Maracana Stadium by Metro?
You have to choose Line 2 for getting an easy access to the stadium. Maracanã station is a stop on the Line 2. You have to board the train from downtown Rio, Flamengo, and Botafogo areas. It can also be reached with a transfer from Line 1, which runs from the Copacabana and Ipanema areas.
How to Reach Maracana Stadium by Commuter Train?
Some of you might prefer taking a commuter train from the Central do Brasil railway station. However, this option sounds more feasible when you had to come to the station or you are coming from the nearby central bus terminal. It is advisable to take a train on the red Ramal Deodoro line, and get off at Maracanã station.

BRT Transcarioca: The network extending for 39km connects the suburbs with Barra da Tijuca, the closest neighborhood to the 2016 Olympic venue.
BRT Transoest: The buses connect Santa Cruz and Campo Grande with Barra da Tijuca.
BRT Transolímpica: The buses in this corridor link can also take you close to the Maracana stadium.
The 464 bus takes you from Ipanema to Maracanã.
